Danaa Callow is a Group Finance Senior Manager in the Isle of Man.
Danaa takes specific responsibility for the Purchases team and manages Group expenses. She also produces monthly management accounts and financials while keeping an eye on operating budgets and the Group’s Management Information Systems. Fulfilling so many roles is no easy task, but fortunately Danaa takes it all in her stride. She has an appreciation for order and pays attention to detail, both essential characteristics when dealing with numbers.
Life always offers you a second chance. It’s called tomorrow.
With the mindset of a champion (she wanted to be an Olympic athlete as a child) coupled with a philosophy that ‘life is what you make of it,’ Danaa never shies away from challenging roles. Armed with an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification she has held a number of accounting roles during her 26 years in the finance industry. A previous long career with a global bank not only provides Danaa with an excellent financial foundation, but having benefited from the direction of a wise mentor there she happily reciprocates in her current role – she is a skilful sounding board within the Group.
IN THREE WORDS:
Danaa champions hard work and focused action. Not one to blow her own trumpet she happily acknowledges other people’s strengths, saying that she can always rely on her team to tackle all tasks with a smile. She really appreciates the professional, calm approach of Andy Ruddy, who makes time to address problems should they occur.
As a child Danaa was sporty and determined – she was also fast. Fast enough to compete for Great Britain in athletics and also attend two Commonwealth Games representing the Isle of Man. These days she appreciates a slower pace outside of the office, especially Sunday mornings when the family can relax together. Her favourite time of the year is Christmas as she finds the mix of family, tradition and food an unbeatable combination.
