At First Names Group we’ve gained quite the reputation for our annual Christmas charity video. And now, we are delighted to announce that our 2015 campaign has been shortlisted for ‘CSR Activity of the Year’ in the Citywealth Brand Management & Reputation Awards!
Our penchant for film production all started in 2014, with a powerful and hilarious rendition of Band Aid’s ‘Feed the World’ performed by our Jersey Directors at our annual Christmas party. Despite having been created for an internal audience, the video spread beyond our company walls and gained significant traction – contributing to a total of £2000 in donations and widespread awareness and support for the Ebola crisis burgeoning at the time.
The standard was set and as the Christmas period approached in 2015, we received multiple enquiries from clients, suppliers and general acquaintances asking how we intended to follow our ‘Band Aid’ video. Thus, we decided that a charity video should be our annual Group ‘signature’ fundraiser.
So, ‘The Edge’ was created. This comical mock talent show, featuring festive ‘performances’ from directors across our business, exceeded all expectations. With thousands of hits and nearly £4000 raised for our chosen charity Worldwide Cancer Research, it was clear that the video had struck a chord with our contacts, our families and friends and the public at large.
We are immensely proud of all of our ‘First Names’ involved in the video, particularly our directors who were willing to sacrifice their dignity for a worthy cause! For those of you who missed the video when it was released, you can view it below.
